Abstract

The potential for zakat, infaq, and sadaqah (ZIS) collection in Indonesia has not yet been fully realized, while zakat management institutions face pressure to expand their fundraising reach despite limited resources. Digitalization offers opportunities to enhance collection efficiency; however, the use of various digital channels is not always fully integrated into the overall organizational model. This study aims to analyze digital fundraising practices, map the nine elements of the Business Model Canvas (BMC), and formulate a digital fundraising development strategy for LAZ PERSIS KLP Cihideung. A qualitative approach with a single case study design was employed. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, observations, and document analysis, then thematically analyzed and mapped using the BMC framework. The findings indicate that LAZ PERSIS KLP Cihihdeung utilizes Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp, and Telegram as communication and collection channels, supported by Trello, Canva, and spreadsheets for campaign management and coordination. The number of identified donors rose from 117 in 2021 to 192 in 2024, while the number of anonymous donors fell from 88 to 33. BMC mapping reveals that optimizing digital fundraising depends on the interconnections between donor segments, value propositions, channels, donor relationships, activities, resources, partnerships, cost structures, and revenue streams. The study recommends integrating data and digital channels, strengthening the digital competencies of amil (fundraising staff), enhancing communication transparency, and developing donor relationship management systems to support more effective and sustainable ZIS collection.
