(RE) Interpretasi Arsitektur Vernakular: Humanis, Progresif, Dan Kontekstual Dalam Peradaban Manusia
Abstract
Genuinely, vernacular architecture is to think humanist, it is the process and the product of human thoughts, senses, intentions and activities, as an effort to give meanings to their environment. Vernacular architecture by nature is progressive and contextual, since it appears to answer current environment needs and challenges. Vernacular theorys dialogues, and practices, are always interesting to re-study. This writing is an effort to study several related things to common vernacular architecture movement. From middle ages to renaissance era appears to be an important point on discussing vernacular architecture theories to date. The purpose of re-interpreting vernacular architecture, within todays context is, as an attempt of human to re-meaning its environment through the way of humanism. Aim for todays humanist, progressive, and contextual vernacular architecture.
Arsitektur vernakular sejatinya adalah berfikir humanis, karena merupakan proses sekaligus produk cipta, rasa, karsa dan karya manusia sebagai upaya memberi makna terhadap lingkungannya. Arsitektur vernakular bersifat progresif dan kontekstual, karena berkembang menjawab tantangan lingkungan dan kondisi terkininya. Dialog teori vernakular, dan praktiknya, merupakan hal yang menarik untuk selalu dikaji kembali. Tulisan ini berusaha mengkaji beberapa hal terkait perkembangan gerakan arsitektur vernakular secara umum. Abad pertengahan menuju renaissance merupakan titik penting dalam membahas perkembangan teori-teori vernakular hingga saat ini. Tujuan memaknai kembali arsitektur vernakular, dalam konteks perkembangan dunia saat ini, adalah sebagai usaha manusia memaknai kembali lingkungannya melalui cara berfikir yang humanis. Menuju sebuah arsitektur vernakular masa kini yang humanis, progresif dan kontekstual.
